Luciana Riso is a Colombian/Italian cinematographer working across narrative, documentary, music videos, commercial and art films- an alumna of the National Film Television School and attendee of Berlin Talent Campus. Feature film work, short films and art films have screened across the globe.

Her latest work, “Retreat”, directed by Ted Evans, had its world premiere at TIFF in 2025. And “La Piel en Primavera/ Skin in Spring”, a Colombian production directed by Yennifer Uribe, had its world premiere at the Berlinale in 2024, in the Forum section. Among other shorts and festival participations, “The Future isn’t what is used to be”, directed by Adeyemi Michael and produced by Film4, is a standout having premiered at TIFF in the short competition. Subsequently it earned a BSC nomination for best short cinematography in 2022. Another standout, “Aribada”, was screened at Director’s Fortnight in Cannes that same year.

Luciana was nominated for her work in “La Piel en Primavera" in Colombia’s national awards "Premios Macondo" in 2025. In 2020 she won “best short experimental cinematography” at the prestigious Zigmud Cinematogrpahy Film Festival. She is now a member of the Asociación de Cinematógrafos Colombiana (ADFC) and the iluminatrix collective in the UK.
